Billie Eilish and Finneas Show Support for Mom Maggie at Benefit Event for Her Nonprofit

Maggie Baird launched her nonprofit, Support+Feed, in 2020 with a mission to combat food scarcity and climate change. On Tuesday night, Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas showed their support for their mother at the organization’s first annual fundraiser in Los Angeles.
Eilish, 21, and Finneas, 26, wrapped up the evening with touching speeches honoring Baird. Earlier, Baird presented Janelle Monáe with a special inspiration award for her Wondalunch initiative, which provides plant-based meals and pantry items to families in L.A.
“I’ve been looking at my mom and I’m like, ‘Damn, she did that! And you guys supported that!” Eilish, known for her song “What Was I Made For,” expressed with admiration. “I’m so in awe of my mother, and every day I aspire to be more like you. This is such an incredible thing that you have done… I’m so impressed by you.”
Finneas added humor to the evening by recounting the nonprofit’s humble beginnings. “We made a bunch of music in our bedroom, paid off our mom’s mortgage, and she immediately started a nonprofit,” he joked, drawing laughs from the intimate crowd at Niku Nashi. “Our mom is our North Star and moral compass in our lives, and this is no exception.”
He also reminisced about a hike with Baird early in the pandemic, where she shared her vision of supporting vegan restaurants in Los Angeles and providing food to hospital workers and patients. “Watching it become a whole enterprise and seeing people donate their time, money, or skills has been deeply moving,” he said. “Contributing financially feels like a cheat code compared to how much others have given. So I’m very humbled.”
Baird, in turn, expressed her gratitude to her children for their pivotal role in the nonprofit’s success. “Whether you admit it or not, you have funded us, talked about us, and given us a platform,” she said. “You’ve inspired other artists to join us. I know you don’t like to feel good about yourself, but just for one single day, please try.”
The star-studded event saw attendance from celebrities like Benny Blanco, Amanda Kloots, Moby, Alicia Silverstone, and Vince Staples. Rising star D4VD performed a three-song acoustic set while guests enjoyed drinks from APB and plant-based sushi from Niku Nashi.
The fundraiser was organized in partnership with The Darkroom, Interscope Records, Live Nation, Main Street Advisors, Wasserman Foundation, and WhatIF Foods. It also honored environmental educator and activist Isaias Hernandez and L.A. city coordinator Julie Schmid, in addition to Monáe.
Since its launch in 2020, Support+Feed has distributed nearly 400,000 plant-based meals and pantry items in 41 cities worldwide. The nonprofit encourages people to eat at least one plant-based meal a day for 30 days.
